It&#8217;s made with two main ingredients being semolina commonly know as &#8220;rava&#8221; and coconut. One can also add spices. Traditionally this&nbsp;cake&nbsp;was baked in a stove top clay oven with hot coals placed on the lid in Goan homes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>My grandmother taught me the recipe during the Covid quarantine period. I hope you too can enjoy it!!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Ingredients<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>5 Eggs<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure Add 1 Cup of Semolina into the bowl and mix well<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>4. Add 1 and 1\/4 Cup of Sugar to the Mixture and mix it well<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>5. Mix the entire mixture well. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Now its time to add Baking Soda and Vanilla Essence<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>8. Add 2 caps vanilla Essence i.e 2.5 ml of Vanilla Essence(Half A Teaspoon)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/luciusblogs.files.wordpress.com\/2020\/05\/whatsapp-image-2020-05-24-at-10.08.33-am-1-1.jpeg?w=541\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-545\" \/><figcaption>Half a teaspoon of Vanilla Essence<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>9. Add 1 Tea Spoon of Baking Soda (5 ML)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/luciusblogs.files.wordpress.com\/2020\/05\/whatsapp-image-2020-05-24-at-9.56.01-am.jpeg?w=541\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-515\" width=\"338\" height=\"640\" \/><figcaption>1 tsp Baking Soda<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>10. Mix the mixture well!!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>11. Add the grated coconuts to the mixture<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/luciusblogs.files.wordpress.com\/2020\/05\/ezgif.com-optimize-4.gif?w=336\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-553\" \/><figcaption>Grated Coconut<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>12. Stir it well<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>13. Leave the mixture out overnight in the fridge(Due to the Extreme hot weather)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Greasing the Cake Tin<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>While creasing the cake tin for other cakes we layer the cake tin with butter, but for this cake you will layer it with a thin layer of semolina(rava). This gives colour the cake and also a crust.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Apply a thin layer of butter all around the cake.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/luciusblogs.files.wordpress.com\/2020\/05\/ezgif.com-optimize-5.gif?w=336\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-556\" \/><figcaption>Applying Butter all Around the Tin<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>2. Add the semolina part by part all around the cake tin. Make sure it spreads evenly all around.
