The Physical Fun of School | A Childs Poem | A Nostalgic School Poem

A poem that expresses from a child’s point of view, how physically being in school makes education happen incidentally and the intangible fun and laughter that accompanies it.

The Physical Fun of School

We walked past the magic gate.

We shut out the stress at home.

It was a new world that brimmed with change, where creativity roamed.

We ran up the stairs and hustled through.

There were so many smiles and people around you.

Bright lights turned on early.

The teacher dashed in an elated mood.

All the students behaved sincerely. Ended the class with a joyful attitude.

Maths, History and Science consumed with great mood.

The bell would ring as the class concludes, it was now time to investigate the canteen food.

The mud was dry, grass was grown,

We made the goalposts by yanking a stone.

Five minutes late to class, We ran up the wrong stairs,

We giggled and hurdled, to flee from the principal’s glare.

Silly jokes mid-class, we borrowed stationery.

Everyone’s spirit was cheerful, the room fresh but sweat-smelly.

Today, I hear a shout and wakeup with doubt.

I see my laptop with Wi-Fi at a full stop.

Another month of this non-stop and my mind will fail like a bad crop.

Took me back to my childhood days. This piece of writing makes you feel so nostalgic, you almost lose yourself in it. Thank you, Lucius. Please never stop writing.
